Lydia Ö. Diakité  is a multidisciplinary artist based in Copenhagen. Educated at the Danish National School of performing arts, dance and choreography department 2017. Diakités' practice conveys complex speculative narratives on themes of identity, power, heritage, popular cultural references and performative gestures. Unfolding this study through choreographic work, video, text and installations. Diakité cherishes working collectively as a black feminist strategy to change the narrative of geniusness and is part of the collective embrace and The Union Collective. 

Diakité have toured with numerous pieces internationally, most recent work, heaven is overrated (2023) solo exhibition at Nikolaj Kunsthal in Copenhagen and CRY BABY (2020) has been exhibited at DAAD Galerie at Berlin Biennale 2020, Art Hub Copenhagen and Rønnebæksholm. immortal summit (2021) presented at i.a Arsenic Lausanne, Dansehallerne Copenhagen and MDT Stockholm, and A Choreographic Conversation (2021) at Moderna Museet Stockholm, created together with BamBam Frost. FIEBRE (2018) created together with Tamara Alegre and Marie Ursin, won the ImPulsTanz Young Choreographers’ Award - 8t:ension series 2021.

They are co-founder of Dance Cooperative in Copenhagen - an artist-run platform and studio currently run by 13 performing artists, and part of The Union -  that works with building decolonial and anti-racist discourse within the art and culture scene in Denmark.
